Spider-Man Black refers primarily to Peter Parker when he bonded with the alien symbiote that would later become Venom. This occurred during the original Secret Wars storyline. The symbiote, initially believed to be a device to enhance Spider-Man's costume, dramatically altered his appearance to an all-black suit.

The symbiote provided Peter with enhanced strength, agility, and the ability to generate his own webbing, eliminating the need for his mechanical web-shooters. He could also shapeshift the costume to some extent, disguising it as normal clothing.

However, the symbiote also had a negative influence on Peter's personality, making him more aggressive and ruthless. He eventually discovered that the symbiote was sentient and feeding off his adrenaline, causing him to experience extreme fatigue when not wearing the suit. Realizing its potentially dangerous nature, Peter separated himself from the symbiote, leading to its eventual bonding with Eddie Brock and the creation of Venom.

Though other characters have briefly worn a symbiote-based black suit (like Felicia Hardy, the Black Cat), the original Spider-Man Black refers to Peter Parker's time with the alien symbiote during and immediately following the Secret Wars.
